Global tech start-up Karakuri has partnered with the British online grocer Ocado to implement food-service robots in its company headquarters. Karakuri's Semblr robot will be used in Ocado's cafeteria and is equipped to feed up to four thousand employees.
The Semblr robot is a kiosk that assembles hot and cold ingredients into prepared meals. The Semblr is equipped to hold pre-made meals at a serving temperature and can personalize every meal to each customer's order. In Ocado's employee food hall, the Semblr robot will make Asian fusion bowls with 17 different ingredients to choose from. The Semblr robot can prepare roughly 100 meals per hour and will aid in running Ocado's corporate cafeteria smoothly and timely.
