Nanoleaf has added four new Matter-compatible smart light bulbs and light strips to its ‘Essentials’ smart lighting lineup. The lights, which are thread-enabled and LED, are the first to support Matter without a bridge. All of the new additions are RGBW, have millions of color options, and are offer dynamic lighting scenes through the Nanoleaf app. The lights can be controlled and scheduled through Matter-compatible apps or voice assistants. Currently, Apple, Google, Amazon, and Samsung SmartThings all offer Matter-compatible functionality for premium customization.
Gimmy Chu, CEO of Nanoleaf, commented on the release in an interview: "There are lighting companies that are Thread and Matter enabled, but they are doing it through their bridge," he says. "We might be the only one doing it directly with our bulbs."
