Urbani Foods Launches New Whole Cut Vegan Steak Called 'Misteak'

Urbani Foods, a Vancouver-based vegan meat brand, has officially introduced 'Misteak,' a meat-free ribeyed steak formulated to replicate the taste, texture, and appearance of a whole cut.

What makes the new vegan steak particularly unique is that it even comes with faux fat marbling. As a result, visually, it appears to be a premium butcher-quality slab of steak. According to the company, the steak is made of a blend of wheat proteins, soybeans, and spices.

"We wanted to show that plant-based alternatives can be more than just ground particle-style products like burgers and sausages," said the company in a recent statement to VegNews. "Technically, whole-muscle meats are harder to replicate, but [they] open up an entirely new area of plant-based products."
