Additional fingers in AI-generated images of hands can be deeply unsettling and with KFC x Fiiiiiingers, this oddity gets a positive spin that aligns with the fried chicken chain's famous slogan. In partnership with ad agency Leo Burnett, KFC launched a campaign to line up with National Cannabis Day and a chicken nugget dispensary pop-up shop in Los Angeles to curb the munchies.

The fast food chain invited fans to use the built-in Meta AI generator on Instagram to create images featuring more than five fingers. And for doing so, participants were rewarded with a coupon for in-app ordering. Although the resulting images ranged from unnervingly fascinating to outright terrifying, KFC fans enjoyed a sweet reward for exploiting one of the most common flaws of artificial intelligence image generators.
