Tutto Bene redesigns the fashion and private shopping floors at the Globus Basel department store in Switzerland to create gallery-like retail spaces that prioritise fashion presentation and architectural clarity. The redesign removes conventional cluttered display fixtures in favour of integrated rails, mirrors, and plinths set within broad, open zones that allow products to be foregrounded against a neutral backdrop. Concrete floors and continuous minimal surfaces define the environment, while a continuous illuminated wall element echoes rhythms found in the building’s original Art Nouveau façade. Natural light is maximised through generous glazing, and perimeter lighting highlights collections without visual competition from ornate scenography.
In addition to open retail areas, the project includes a private shopping suite designed with wood panelling and layered mirror installations to create intimate, residential-scaled spaces for personalised appointments. The redesign also incorporates navigation strategies that guide visitors through fashion displays with clarity and hierarchy, supporting ease of circulation within the floors.
