Skillshot Launches the Georgia Esports League for Economic Growth

Georgia’s Department of Economic Development and the Georgia Film Academy have confirmed they will be partnering with Atlanta esports organization Ghost Gaming and Skillshot Media to launch the Georgia Esports League (GEL). The esports organization will focus on providing players with curriculum pathways and workforce development, in addition to allowing them to further develop their esports dreams. The program will be open to all two-year and four-year college programs and will begin with Rocket League.

Students enrolled in the organization will be given the opportunity to study shoutcasting and event production, and take additional courses offered by Georgia Film Academy. Students will also be required to aid the companies in the production of the GEL Finals.

"I’m excited not only for our region, but I think other regions can look and come up with twists that make it more sustainable in their market for economic development," said Todd Harris, CEO of Skillshot Media and Ghost Gaming.
