Framework Announced its 2023 Laptops with Upgradable GPUs

Framework Laptops unveiled its 2023 collection of laptops following a slow period from the company in 2022. The 2023 laptops include 13th-generation Intel and 7th-generation Ryzen CPUs, which are the fastest processors currently available for consumer laptops. In addition to this, though, the company has also added a model with a 16-inch screen, rather than the previous laptops which the company only offered in 13 inches.

Perhaps the most notable change for the upcoming laptops from Framework, though, is the user-upgradable GPU bay. Framework laptops have a modular design that enables end-users to swap out and upgrade parts, such as the wi-fi card, motherboard, and more. Now, the laptops will feature a GPU bay for a discrete graphics card, such as an NVIDIA 4060, for example, which will be upgradable for years to come. This, according to the company, was a huge design challenge, as GPUs often pull vastly different amounts of power and require varying levels of heat dissipation.
