From pirate squirrel fashion to freaky flavored chips, the popularity of squirrels seems to be increasing, as they are slowly being distanced from being listed in the derogatory category of “rodent.”

Implications - Although once mostly considered as mere rodent nuisances, the increased interaction between squirrels and urban populations is gradually starting to make them altogether more familiar and less vehemently resisted. As a result, squirrels are increasingly becoming more easily accepted into mainstream society both as pets and as advertising/fashion fixtures. This changing general attitude towards these furry creatures is definitely something to keep an eye on.
