27 Factors Hurting Modern Marriage

From Glam Divorces to Love Phobics Like DeAnna Pappas:

Why don't modern marriages work? Even the Bachelorette, DeAnna Pappas, broke off her engagement this week. A sign of the times?

OK, so you can't really compare a relationship like the one DeAnna Pappas had with Jesse Csincsak; after all, she was essentially forced to choose one of the men cast for the show. But still, even in the public eye, when the world is watching, people can't make a marriage work. Just look at Madonna and Guy Ritchie.

Is it because modern women are too focused on career? Is it because younger generations don't have enough life experience on their own, living at home until they're close to 30, then moving out for the first time when they get hitched?

I argue that one of the most influential factors in broken marriages today is the fact that divorces are so accepted. Younger generations almost assume they will get married at least twice in their lives, making divorce sound more like a hoop you have to jump through to find Mr. or Mrs. Right.

Below is a slideshow of some of the things illustrating how accepted divorce has become.
