The Yama Drunk Driving PSA Features the Hindu God of Death

The Yama drunk driving PSA is easily one of the most creative drinking and driving ads ever created. The PSA was created by Zara, a Tapas bar in Chennai, India, in conjunction with the Chennai Traffic Police. The PSA involves hiding an actor dressed as Yama, the Hindu god of death, in the back of cars. Tipsy drivers who asked for their car from the valet were in for a rude awakening when they saw Yama sitting with them.

After being scared stupid by Yama, the drivers were given a pamphlet warning them of the dangers of drinking and driving. The pamphlet also came with a number for a driver-for-hire service. According to the Yama drunk driving PSA, the majority of people involved in the stunt opted to call a driver rather than drive themselves home. Creative stunts like this are a great way to raise awareness for hot-button issues such as drinking and driving. Stats for Godly Drunk Driving Ads Trending: Older & Mild
