Wilderness Forever: 50 Years of Protecting America's Wild Places is a fabulous photo exhibit that is on display at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. The exhibit consists of images, selected by a jury, that capture the beauty of America's untamed land and inhabitants and convey the importance of preserving wild spaces.

The exhibit celebrates the Wilderness Act, an important element of American conservation efforts that has helped protect more than 109 million acres of American wilderness.

The photos show America's stunning natural landscapes while depicting its jaw-droppingly beautiful flaura and fauna in all their glory.

The photos displayed at the Wilderness Forever exhibit were chosen from over 5,000 submissions from throughout the USA. The exhibit will run through summer 2015.
