From Chinese Pollution Pictures to Haunting Nature Shoots

Disappearing natural landscapes, overwhelmed landfills and endangered animals are just a few of the subjects in these awareness-raising environmental photography series. Since it is not always easy for people to picture the negative effects of careless actions in the present moment, these images help to show some of the devastation that will only continue unless serious changes are made.

In order to get people to step back and see the big picture, series like 'Feedlots,' 'Watermark' and 'The Mining Project' use aerial photography to show extreme resource extraction.

Since nature is the primary focus in these environmental photography snapshots, people are rarely seen as subjects, except in '7 Days of Garbage' and 'HAZMAT Surfing.' Series like these cause people to question how their habits impact their own wellness, as well as the health of the planet.
