At this year's SXSW, USA Today announced 'VRtually There,' a new and immersive way to experience the news using virtual reality technology.
As a follow-up to its VR Stories app, in the coming months, USA Today will be rolling out VRtually There news segments and advertising content that will be available for viewing in virtual reality. Content that will be shared through this platform include everything from stories on technology and sports to finance, giving viewers a completely new perspective and way to experience news as it unfolds.
Audiences can tap into VRtually There using the affordable Google Cardboard or other popular virtual reality headsets on the market. For those without access to one of these devices, some content can also be seen on the USA Today website in 2D.
