Power lines are an eyesore that many people could do without, but as it stands we need the power they deliver to live our daily lives, so The Land of Giants by Choi+Shine project sees the necessary utilities reimagined as large, statuesque people. Designed for the Landsnet company based in Iceland, The Land of Giants by Choi+Shine was created by the architecture firm as a way to give personality and life to an otherwise lifeless piece of our modern landscape.
Describing The Land of Giants by Choi+Shine, the architects explain: "Like the statues of Easter Island, it is envisioned that these one hundred and fifty foot tall, modern caryatids will take on a quiet authority, belonging to their landscape yet serving the people, silently transporting electricity across all terrain, day and night, sunshine or snow."
