From Community Reward Platforms to Water Monitor Apps

The Internet of things has spurred on a movement of connectivity that is paving the way for the creation of smart cities around the world. While many cities are addressing this hi-tech direction in different ways, common factors of efficiency, convenience and environment conscientiousness all play a huge roles. In this case, these smart cities are implementing ways to track water usage, electricity and more in an effort to reduce their environmental impact.

Apart from monitoring and tracking, these eco smart cities have interesting high-level concepts to loop in residents. One pertains to a rewards system that encourages people living in smart cities to not only make better health decisions for themselves, but also for their hometown. This holistic approach brings the social online aspect into play as well.
