These St Patrick's Day cupcakes might be festive for March 17th, but they can technically be enjoyed any time of the year. Created by the blog Will Cook For Friends, the Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes recipe is inspired by a bomb shot cocktail.

Just like the alcoholic beverage, the St Patrick's Day cupcakes contain Irish stout, Irish cream and Irish whiskey. To recreate the treats at home, you will need ingredients including Guinness beer (or a similarly dark stout) and unsweetened cocoa powder. The dessert features a dark chocolate ganache that contains whiskey as well as heavy whipping cream and essentially any kind of chocolate (like bittersweet, semi sweet or dark) you prefer. The buttercream frosting contains Bailey's plus confectioner's sugar, unsalted butter and unflavored food gel coloring if you want to get even more festive.
