The Spotify PartyDrone is an ingenious drone that was used to deliver personalized music to festival attendees in Belgium. The drone was the brainchild of music streaming service Spotify and Belgian mobile operator Base.

When buying their festival tickets, festival-goers were asked to select and add a song to a special Spotify playlist. When they arrived in the flesh to collect their tickets, the Spotify PartyDrone was sent to escort them from the ticket booth to the festival entrance, while blasting their chosen song.

The drone itself makes use of a hexacopter design. It consists of a lightweight carbon casing which contains an amplifier and a trio of speakers capable of pumping out 450 watts of party tunes. It is also equipped with LED lights on the underside, making it look pretty spectacular -- especially at night -- while delivering tunes.

Aside from making for a canny marketing stunt, the Spotify PartyDrone also serves to underscore the incredible range of applications for drones.
