The Alcove Highback seating collection was designed as multifunction business furniture: a private retreat for a little office downtime, or paired with other sofas to form an intimate meeting area. These sofas could also be installed in a sensational restaurant and used as secluded booths. And what could be a more perfect way to style up a library—private or public?
The high-sided upholstered panels of these modern sofas and chairs provide sound dampening and a sense of exclusive personal space. The collection was designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Vitra.  The Alcove Sofa is subtle and refined. It is uncommonly tall which creates a dramatic sense of enclosure and privacy. The padded side and back panels have a pronounced sound dampening effect. The acoustic reduction adds to the sense of privacy and protection.
