The popularity of Snapchat and the groups of people who love to use it has made this social media app a desirable platform for marketers to create Snapchat ad content. Now, Snapchat is experimenting with a new type of advertising format that will allow its users to make purchases from directly within the platform.
This new form of advertising on Snapchat could be a great complement to the existing Discover channel. Some of the brands to first take advantage of this new advertising option from Snapchat include Target and Lancome. Target is currently promoting "New products every week" and with a downward swipe, users have the chance to instantly acquire these items through Target's mobile site.
Snapchat and many other social media platforms have recently been very active in testing different ways to monetize their offerings.
