Jason Battersby has an idea for the direction of Toronto mass transit: Up. His electric Scania ‘U.P.’ (Urban Progress) concept uses a suspended monorail system to propel commuters around downtown. Jason Battersby’s Scania ‘U.P.’ Urban Progress is meant to attract travelers who might not ordinarily use public transit. Battersby also suggests that the monorail be used for cargo, mail and other deliveries to reduce the number of delivery trucks clogging up Toronto streets.
