Lucid Motors Debuts the "Ultra-High-Performance" Sapphire EV Line

Lucid Motors has debuted a new competitor for the Tesla Model S Plaid dubbed the ‘Sapphire.’ Along with the new automobile offering, Lucid will be introducing a new Sapphire badge and ‘Lucid Air Sapphire’ designed to offer consumers a premium driving experience. The car utilizes a three-motor powertrain with two at the rear and one at the front of the vehicle. In addition, the car offers 1,200 horsepower, torque vectoring capabilities, Aero Sapphire wheels, antilock braking, and a power steering system.
Additional performance-focused upgrades include specialty Michelin tires, stiffer bushings, and a suspension system. Preorders for the premium ‘Lucid Air Sapphire’ will commence via Lucid Motors Aug 23, 2022. The car is priced at $249,000 USD.
