 Gisele Channels Original Supermodels for Harper's Bazaar Published: Mar 12, 09 Comments: 1 Views: 4,205 Brazilian supermodel deluxe Gisele Bundchen has been going through a tremendous period of exposure that has seen her grace various covers of the most prestigious fashion magazines in the world simultaneously. This time around, the stunning beauty is on the front page and spread of the April 2009 issue of Harper’s Bazaar. Photographed by Peter Lindbergh, Gisele channels some of her iconic predecessors from the 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s including Twiggy, Iman and Cindy Crawford. She also pays homage to the glamorous fashion of the 1950s in a high-contrast photograph (#2 on the gallery) that showcases models in iconic poses that were en vogue back then. Though Gisele clocks in at nearly six feet and has a bod that stops traffic (but is a mere size 4), it's the one-two punch of her significant physical assets and her wham-bam personality that has not only catapulted her to the top of the modeling world but also kept her firmly at its apex for a decade and counting. "She is even better in the flesh," says Dior designer John Galliano. "I think it was her first season in Paris when she came to do a fitting. I had heard about Gisele, but when she walked in the room I felt like my fingers had been put into the electrical socket, like, pwoah! Pure electricity."
