 On their own, Pixel Block Chocolate looks pretty cool. But for designer Tithi Kutchamuch, that just wasn’t enough. The chocolates also serve a social message. Specifically, consumers must pay more to get less, which is a contrarian message to most of our society. The missing pixels are the art you’re paying for. The message itself isn’t incredibly powerful, but the desing is certainly worth paying for… So I suppose the designer’s point gets made.  In today’s society, we’re conditioned to get the most food while spending less. Bulk buy comes to mind. Borrowing on that dichotomy, what if you paying more meant getting less. These chocolates would cost as much, if not more, than standard chocolates yet you get less. Clever design such as these silhouettes are used to justify the cost. Often when something is novel, people are willing to spend more.
