In a world full of unusual contests, this one is definitely an attention-grabber. A group called ‘The Environmentals’ decided to hold a contest for best nude nuclear protest photo. I know this seems a little weird and arbitrary, but the group did this in response to the Russian Miss Atom contest. The Russian Miss Atom contest selects, in beauty-pageant fashion, contestants who will go on to be spokesmodels for nuclear power. So far, the counter-contest from The Environmentals has garnered little support—there are only seven entries to date—but the idea is to show that the use of sex to promote nuclear energy is ridiculous.  The rules? "Use real nuclear power plants as backdrop for fashion or glamor shots! No lab montage or Photoshop!" Clothing, as this shot from the decommissioned Trojan nuclear power plant in Oregon demonstrates, is optional. (Some of the originals, obviously, are NSFW.)
