In a charming series commissioned by The New Yorker, Bob Eckstein illustrated some of his favorite New York bookstores. 'Bookstores of New York' consists of Bob's preferred literary haunts in NYC as well as added text about why he loves those places or describing a particularly fond memory that took place there as he browsed the shelves.
The ongoing series continues on The New Yorker as Bob sends their editorial team his sketches and added commentary. From Pageant Book and Print Shop to Books Three Lives, if you are in New York City they also provide an opportunity to do some exploring. Or for book lovers elsewhere, these drawings of New York Bookstores provided added insight into the city that never sleeps.
