The new Yahoo Mail app is being designed to mark the 18th birthday of Yahoo Mail. The biggest highlight of this app is the introduction of a new and innovative feature called Yahoo Account Key. If you have a smartphone that's loaded up with the Yahoo Mail app, you can simply sync up your email address with your phone number. What this means is that you essentially will never need to enter in your password again.

When you click on the password field while logging in, the field will disappear one you have Yahoo Account Key activated. "Account Key is a metaphor for how a user will verify their identity," says Yahoo's VP of Product Management.

Many will be interested in knowing whether the new Yahoo Mail app can be used in conjunction with Gmail, and it appears that this will be the case in the future. This functionality will surely elevate the Yahoo Mail app in the echelon of email apps.
