My Marriott Hotel is a Farmville-Like Game for the Hospitality Industry

Marriott International is hoping that its new recruiting game My Marriott Hotel will help it fill the 50,000 open positions at the company's locations worldwide. The game takes a Farmville-like approach: Users begin in a Marriott kitchen and must hire staff, purchase product, oversee food quality and expedite orders to the kitchen, all while staying within a predetermined budget.

David Rodriguez, Marriott's executive vice president for global human resources, told the Wall Street Journal that users will "find that in fact this is a very intriguing business" and that My Marriott Hotel would "demystify" the hotel industry.
