Scotiabank's Movie Marketing Stunt Shows off Item Collages on Instagram

As a way to promote the Scotiabank card that also lets you rack up Cineplex Scene loyalty points for movies, the brand is running a fun movie marketing campaign on Instagram. This takes the form of a 'Guess the Movie' style game, where collections of objects are used to represent popular titles like Indiana Jones, Harry Potter and Mean Girls.

In total, there are eight item collages to be posted and already, the brand has noticed a surge in engagement and followers. Although the posts are not tied to earning more Scene points or any form of a contest, it's evident that people still want to show off their film buff status and try their hand at guessing the movie titles. However, as determined by the popularity of these posts, the brand may decide to run this kind of campaign as a contest in the future.
