Software as a service (SaaS) is becoming an increasingly viable area for startups to work within, as evidenced by this messenger software. Based in San Francisco, SendBird is a new venture that helps developers add a messaging function to any app. By offering messaging and chat API for mobile apps and websites, SendBird gives more app users access to real-time communication and increases retention rates for customers.

Promising "a full messaging feature in 5 minutes," the messenger software company enables in-app messaging with one on one messaging, 'clan chat' and group message, public chat rooms and more across multiple platforms. Their packages include typing indicators, delivery and read receipts, profanity filters and user blocks to name a few.
