Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Japanese brand Onitsuka Tiger, Dutch artist Erik Kriek designed Japanese zodiac-themed sneakers for Spring/Summer 2009. The limited collection with an ironic twist reinterprets the rabbit, dragon and serpent signs.
In the Japanese zodiac, animals signify one of 12 years, not months like in Western astrology. A person born in any given year is said to inherit some of the key traits of that year's animal. The Onitsuka Tiger website allows you to find out your Japanese zodiac year and element.
