The iRobot Create 2 is a new educational robot, that borrows from the platform of iRobot's famous Roomba vacuum-cleaning robot, that is designed to stimulate students' minds.

The robot is completely hackable, meaning students can add on external gizmos such as cameras and grippers. They can even program the iRobot Create 2 directly from a computer or by installing an Arduino or Raspberry Pi microcontroller.

3D-printable files can be used to forge extra parts for the robot on a personal 3D printer.

Create 2 is already available in the American market for a price of $100. The robot is part of iRobot's Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) program. The program aims to stimulate and promote the sciences and engineering in schools, universities and non-profit organizations.
