Actual beetles rock the Beatles retro mop-top hairstyle in a cool ad campaign by Amboss precision scissors. So, maybe they are in fact praying mantises or grasshoppers, but this was the first association I could make to the insects with funky hair images in these promotional images.

Perhaps the idea is that the shears are so precise you could in fact cut an edgy hairdo on something as small as a bug.

Whatever the goal, ad agency Saint Elmo’s of Munich and creative director Markus Walde created this triptych of coiffed insects that projects a little quiver of creepiness but effectively catches your attention.
