In this darkly shot series, Italian photographer Fabio Orsi depicts a foreboding, yet elegant forest.

Wooded areas can get pretty disorienting if one isn't familiar with the area. Trees can obscure clearings and paths, leaving one to become lost among them. This is true even during the day, but all the more so at night.

It is this disorienting quality that Orsi captures so well. There are few points of reference beyond the countless trees and shrubbery. Indeed, looking through the series, one feels as though they have stumbled into the woods and lost their bearing.

Orsi deserves credit as well for managing to produce such vividly defined and composed shots with so little light. His work is of high quality both artistically and technically.
