The 'IAmAliveVIP' emergency notification app for Android devices is one that makes quite a political statement about the frequency of bombings in Lebanon.

The app by Sandra Hassan enables users to send out fast auto-tweets in the case of emergency, such as messages like "I am still alive! #Lebanon #Latestbombing." Over 4,000 users have reportedly downloaded the app since it was made available on January 21st and it's a lot of action during two bombings since then. While the app is useful, its political message is also quite apparent. The app snidely describes that: "every time there is an explosion, we have to spend a lot of time contacting our loved ones…Not anymore!"

The app has got people in other regions affected by bombings asking Hassan to create versions for their local areas as well. Stats for Snarky Safety-Tweeting Apps Trending: Older & Average
