This digital newsstand is an old news box which has been retro-fitted with a Mac Mini and a digital screen. It performs a variety of tasks, including display of the latest news and music. The DIY project was created by Scott Walker, the assistant managing editor at the Birmingham News.
In addition to playing slideshows, music and videos, the digital newsstand can be set up to perform other automated tasks, such as sending downloaded items as e-mail attachments, displaying RSS feeds or even printing a newspaper.
