Mimi A La Mode is taking the daring step of adding a charm and etiquette school to her Old-Hollywood inspired line of sleep masks, shower caps and spa apparel.

In days of old, proper young ladies would not have been thought of as qualified for marriage without the benefit of charm school, but in an age of text-messaging and increasingly casual interpersonal protocol, charm school is a bold business choice. A La Mode is reviving the charm school tradition not to help young women get a man, but because she believes that, “Beauty, charm, manners are all part of the same ultimate goal for living a happy fulfilled and glamorous life!”

The question remains as to whether the revival of charm and etiquette will prove to be a successful business choice.

When questioned as to why Mimi A La Mode would venture into uncharted territory in business, she answered the question by saying it was an extension of what she always has done for two decades. "I thought long and hard after being inspired by the words of our new president to do something positive and helpful and to contribute to the world at large. I decided that this is what I want to contribute through my designs and teaching." (prweb)

The Finishing School Experience (LINK)
This was my final campaign project at University (which I graduated from in July 2009 with a 2:1 woo) where the brief was to create a new product or service for an existing brand. I came up with the idea of a Finishing School course which will be held at The Victoria and Albert Museum called The Finishing School Experience. This service is targeted at females aged 18-27, belonging to social class ABC1 and are students, graduates or young professionals. The Finishing School course is intended to be ran over a couple of days and will incorporate a range of skills and lessons including elocution, etiquette and basic cooking and sewing skills.
