I love ads like these that use intricate, beautiful art to deliver their message. Created by the Draftfcb ad agency, the Aquaphor Healing Ointment campaign uses artistic tattoos to show how ointment can heal and keep the tattoos alive.

My favorite is the Devil ad which shows a big tattoo on someone’s back depicting a pit filled with devils reaching for the ointment to soothe their pain. Other ads show Japanese fish and a snake, all reaching out and trying to capture the ointment which will “keep it alive”.

The 2008 campaign was photographed by John Midgley with art direction by Isaac Pagan, and creative direction by Christoph Becker, Mark Warfield, and Gary Resch for Draftfcb, New York, USA.
