Dublin-based Notion, a design studio, has developed a new snow sports helmet. The Air Helmet’s ventilated design uses breathable textile padding, hard plastic exoskeleton and a peaked brim.

The helmet is intended for use by average snow sports enthusiasts who want stylish, snow sports-specific head protection. The asymmetrical vents in the helmet as well as the color choices demonstrate the effort to differentiate the Air Helmet from military-influenced headwear and helmet styles from bicycling, climbing, or other sports.

Where is the offer for riders seeking a less traditional approach to full venting? Which product does not draw direct influence from military, bicycle or climbing head protection? The evolution of snow-sports helmets to date has responded to market need, and has leaned on analogous protection products to do so. We developed AIR in response to the empty space between the two established helmet archetypes identified above. (dixonfoma.blogspot)
