From Single-Serve Soup Pods to Instant Vegan Meal Kits

With families leading increasingly busy lives, there is a growing demand for time-saving meal solutions. However, instead of frozen dinners and microwaveable entrees, consumers are gradually turning to more futuristic solutions to speed up the cooking process.

Taking cues from the world of coffee, several brands have come up with single-serve pods that produce instant meals. For instance, an appliance called Flatev uses disposable pods to help consumers prepare fresh tortillas and roti at the touch of a button. Similarly, a personal oven called the SideChef uses pods of cookie dough to bake cookies in minutes.

However, not all time-saving meal solutions require special appliances for preparation. Indeed, many brands have developed special packaging that makes the home-cooking process both simple and convenient. Examples of hassle-free packaging include the Tony Roma's BBQ Meat Packages that turn into functional cooking equipment, the Hummustir ready-to-mix hummus pouches and Yowk's pre-packaged soft-boiled eggs.
