If you have ever struggled with making perfectly runny boiled eggs at home, Yowk from the New Egg Company is now selling pre-packaged, pre-cooked soft-boiled eggs to prevent any more kitchen mishaps. The almost ready-to-eat egg only requires five minutes to cook once boiling water has been poured over it. The design of the carton only encases a single egg, which doubles as the container for cooking and serving.

Although many have been quick to criticize Yowk for needlessly bringing convenience to a food item that's already fairly easy to prepare, this system makes preparing the perfect boiled egg fool-proof. Priced at about £1.79 a pack, the kit is about five times the price of a standard egg, so it doesn't come cheap. However, the pre-cooked boiled egg kit does come with pre-cut sticks for dipping, salt for seasoning and a spoon.

Yowk is set to debut at this year's International Food Event and so far, there are already a few supermarkets and coffee shops that have expressed interest in carrying this product.
