It’s not like anyone believed him when he denied it but now it is official, Mark McGwire has admitted to using a banned controlled substance during his days as a major league baseball all-star. His delayed drug admission came earlier today to the Associated Press in a 20 minute interview where the former home run record holder fought back tears.
In 1998 McGwire made headlines for breaking Roger Maris’ long standing single season home run record with 70. The later half of McGwire’s career had been plague with accusation of steroid use that the slugger vehemently denied until today.
