These bare-legged editorials feature leading ladies with legs that go on for days. In many shoots, these women are modeling shoes or boots, but some do feature them parading around in questionably short attire. Either way, showing a lot of leg is a sure fire way to draw attention.
Society's image of body has changed a lot in the last couple of decades. Thanks to a bombardment of ads featuring skinny, busty and favorably proportioned girls, the growing popularity of Victoria Secret models and shows like America's Next Top Model, meeting the bar of beauty puts many under intense pressure. One cannot help but notice that the objectifying and sexualized nature of fashion editorials make these campaigns less about the garments and more about the models.
