Spaceship-Resembling Stadiums

The Zenit Stadium in St. Petersburg is Nearing Completion

The Zenit Stadium in St. Petersburg has been under construction for quite some time now, but it's nearing completion. The final product looks like a spaceship from certain angles, and is planning to host the world cup in 2018.

Features of the stadium will include a roof that can retract, enabling spectators to enjoy games on a sunny day, as well as a field that can be removed. Eight masts are what hold up the massive roof, which can all be seen from quite a ways away. The interchangeable field will allow for other events to take place within the stadium, such as cultural fairs and other sporting gatherings throughout the year in St. Petersburg.
