Zen Run 01 by Zen Running Club is a performance running shoe that's plant-based and vegan, and made in a way that's sustainable and ethical. With this footwear design, Zen Running Club brings attention to the fact that it's incredibly hard to recycle shoes made with plastics and Zen Run 01 is promoted as "an innovative running shoe made from plants, not plastic."
The shoe is made with six all-natural and renewable materials like organic cotton for the laces and webbing, sugarcane and algae bloom for the midsole and natural rubber for the outsole, plus eucalyptus fibre and castor beans on other parts of the shoe. At the end of its usable life, the running shoe is designed to break down naturally over less than a decade.
