Photographer Amy Goalen Captures the Masculine Side of Yoga

When people think of male yogis, the practitioners don't often look like those featured in the 2015 yoga men calendar. That is because more traditional and exotic teachers are often associated with it. Yet this photo series sheds light on the pastime, showing that there is much more diversity to it than some people might initially believe or be away of.

Shot by photographer Amy Goalen, the 2015 yoga men calendar can be considered the precursor to the a larger project. She has teamed up with writer Julian DeVoe to combine the images with inspiring interviews that will make up a book, which will be titled 'Inside the Warrior: The Masculine Side of Yoga.' They share, "We want this book to be something that is educational, inspiring, and revealing about men who practice yoga."
