Tense Smoketography

The Xevi Muntané Marcel Castenmiller editorial is what it is. The models don't look particularly happy, or particularly sexy, or that they're trying too hard. They just are. It's even a little awkward and tense; the couple looks like they might be pissed off at each other. But, isn't modeling awkward, uncomfortable and unnatural?

Featured in Crash magazine, the Xevi Muntané Marcel Castenmiller shoot also gets a thumbs-up for its use of ciggies. Unwarranted? Maybe. However, the cigarettes-as-props goes beyond the typical bad-boy look that's ubiquitous in fashion spreads.
