Microsoft's Xbox App Now Lets Users Choose an Install Location

Microsoft has updated its Xbox application on Windows 10 and 11 devices. This new update brings an array of storage-friendly features. Most notably, users can now select an install file for the software they are installing, whether it is a video game, a simulator, or other software. Previously, the Xbox application would only install files to a specified folder on the root of a hard drive.

This update brings two notable changes. Firstly, the Xbox app is now more compatible with computers that have multiple storage drives, and secondly, users can now easily access the files for a specific piece of installed software. This open access to files enables users to configure game settings and modify game files without opening the game itself. This is helpful for troubleshooting as well as for the implementation of user-created content, such as customized parts of a game.
