Xbox Announced PC Support for its Game Streaming

— July 16, 2025 — Business
Microsoft has extended its “Stream Your Own Game” feature to the Xbox app for Windows 10 and 11. Previously available on Xbox consoles, web browsers, select smart TVs and VR headsets, the feature allows Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to play games they already own—beyond the standard Game Pass library—directly from Microsoft’s cloud servers on their PC without installing them locally. At launch on PC, more than 250 titles are supported, including high-profile console exclusives such as Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy and various Assassin’s Creed entries; this represents a five-fold increase from the initial 50-game rollout on console in late 2024.

Access to the PC implementation requires inclusion in the Xbox Insider Program’s PC Gaming Preview and an active Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Once enrolled, users can navigate to the Cloud Gaming section of the Xbox app, select “Stream your own game,” choose a supported title they own, and begin streaming instantly—saving local disk space and bypassing lengthy downloads. The feature is available in 28 countries where Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) is supported, and Microsoft plans to broaden access beyond Insiders and expand the catalog to include Xbox Play Anywhere and additional console-only titles over time.
