While most writing workshops involve creativity, a clear mind, and some inspiration, Bond Running's recent event went one step further and ended with a 5K run. The fitness-focused event brought together a group of Toronto-based creatives, encouraging participants to arrive with a notebook or laptop to jot notes in, as well as loose and comfortable clothing suitable for the workout to follow.
Hosted by Altaira Northe of Just Write -- an avid runner and professional writer with over 10 years of experience -- the event started with a creative writing session, a mindfulness training sequence and a run that was meant to help those participating overcome barriers to creativity.
Northe has "spent the past three years working with a broad range of creative-types and entrepreneurs, finding out what makes them tick and how they got their own creative projects started." Her specialty is helping individuals overcome writer's block, and she pairs her love of both writing, and running with this hybrid event.
