Target Sells Sensory-Friendly, Wheelchair-Friendly Costumes

Ahead of Halloween this year, Target is making all-new wheelchair-friendly costumes for kids available for pre-order. The two new wheelchair-adaptive designs include a princess costume and a pirate costume, both of which can be paired with a matching wheelchair cover to complete the theme of the costume and kept in place with simple hook-and-loop closures. Both of these options have been specifically designed for kids who use wheelchairs, as the pirate costume set includes extra-wide leg openings that allow for the pants to be put on with or without shoes.

Target is also introducing sensory-friendly shark and unicorn costumes for kids with flat seams and no tags for a non-irritating, comfortable fit. This year, kids and parents will be able to enjoy an increasing range of inclusive Halloween costume designs.
